Key Ingredients in AM/PM
Ceramides are a type of lipid naturally present in the skin—they’re known for their ability to retain moisture and strengthen the skin barrier. We formulated the AM/PM Facial Moisturizer with a synergistic blend of ceramides for long-lasting moisture. Our ferment-peptide complex is notable, too: It helps fortify the skin barrier while supporting healthy skin microbiota and providing long-lasting moisture. Glycerin, a humectant, helps the skin retain water. Saccharide isomerate (a skin-identical carbohydrate complex) provides hydration while vitamin F aids in replenishing moisture. Polyglycerides enhance sensoriality and contribute to the formula’s uniquely satisfying texture.
How Does AM/PM Differ from Other Prequel Moisturizers?
AM/PM is a true mid-weight facial moisturizer. It’s richer than Half & Half Fluid Moisturizer, which is a lightweight emulsion; it’s less rich than Barrier Therapy, which is a skin protectant. You can wear AM/PM on its own—or you can layer it over Half & Half if your skin needs more moisture.
It’s designed for all skin types, and to be applied daily, both morning and night. (Urea Advanced Relief has urea in it at a 10% concentration, which makes it a mild kerolytic and not something universally tolerated so frequently.)
When you squeeze AM/PM out of the tube, it feels rich—almost dense. But as you spread it, it melts into the skin immediately. We’ve never felt a moisturizer quite like it. It’s the exact texture we want for a moisturizer that we’re using every day, twice a day.
Order of Application: How to Layer AM/PM
We created the AM/PM Facial Moisturizer for twice-daily use (hence the name). In the evening, AM/PM can be the last step of your nighttime skincare routine: Apply it after cleansing your face and applying any treatments or serums. If you use Half & Half, layer AM/PM on top for added hydration.
Of course, you can use it alone on clean skin for a low-maintenance hydrating routine. In the morning, follow with sunscreen. We find it layers beautifully under makeup, too.
